Georgian National Museum to Offer Inclusive Education for Disabled Children

TBILISI – The Art for the Public Interest association is set to carry out a social project for children and teenagers with disabilities at the Georgian National Museum. The Inclusive Education in Georgian Museums project started in the museum on February 15th.

The project will provide an inclusive education program for persons with disabilities from ages 6 to 18 and will begin in May and go through to June 2016.

According to the organizers the museum is an attractive place for children to get different types of information. The museum has a social responsibility to provide physical, cognitive and emotional accessibility for everyone. This includes providing the museum with ramps, adapted elevators and toilets and also audio guides and attentive, positive staff members.

The project is supported by the European Foundation and funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
