American Television Series to be Filmed in Georgia
TBILISI – An American television series is set to be filmed in Georgia. According to Enterprise Agency, the first application was registered by US company Noirtainment under Film in Georgia, part of the Produce in Georgia Program, which encourages filmmakers to shoot in Georgia.
The story follows an American journalist who learns of her Georgian origins and comes to Georgia to find out more. Georgian Gela Andrew Suli is the producer of the series.
Filming will begin in the near future. The conditions of the program, a tax exemption applicant, which applies to the Enterprise Agency must be registered in Georgia. Georgian company Alioni was created for this purpose, which was applied to the agency requested by Noirtainment.
The Film in Georgia program introduces a Cash Rebate mechanism which will give producers the opportunity to shoot films and get 20-25% of qualifying costs back.
According to the Agency, to promote the Cash Rebate component, they will hold presentations on the Road Shows. Targeted film markets are American and Indian. Presentations will be held in India, Los Angeles and Cannes in the near future.
