Tbilisi International Airport Reschedules Flights for Runaway Works

TBILISI - From March 1st Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport (TAV) has closed during the daytime for approximately four months, in order to renovate the airport’s runway.

During the daytime aircraft will not be able to take off or land at the airport.

Administration from Tbilisi International Airport has announced that at this stage the asphalt surface is being laid in the Alpha Zone. The reconstruction works are being carried out by Black Sea Group.

TAV runway (31L/13R) will be closed for any airplane from 09:30am to 3pm, during March 1st -27th, while from March 21st to July 1st it will be shut down from 10am to 8pm.


During this period, airlines will continue regular flights under reviewed schedule and can carry on flight from 8pm.

According TAV administration, the air companies have been informed of the renovation works well in advance and will choose themselves whether to alter their flying hours or cancel flights.
