Electricity Concerns Following Bagebi Landslide

A landslide damaged several properties in the village of Bagebi on Tbilisi’s outskirts yesterday evening, raising concerns that a nearby electricity substation could be under threat if there is further rain and/or landslides.

Georgia’s Deputy Environment Minister Temur Murghulia said a plan of action will be created promptly to prevent the Bagebi ravine from swelling.

The latest landslide was smaller than the landslide which caused major flooding in Tbilisi on Saturday night but still caused damage to some houses and gardens.
