Bodies Found as Tbilisi Flood Death Toll Hits 14

Authorities have discovered the bodies of two more victims of the Tbilisi flood, bringing the death toll to 14. The latest casualties have been named by The Crisis and Emergency Management Council as Guliko Chitadze, a Zoo worker, and her husband Malkhaz Chitadze who were killed in the flooding.

Guliko had worked at the zoo for 25 years. As soon as she recovered from an attack by a tiger last month she returned to work and continued taking care of her beloved animals, only to be tragically killed by the weekend’s disaster.

Officials said the majority of those who had died were aged between 40-60 years. The oldest victim was 77-years-old while the youngest was 22.
