18 Million Loan Allocated to City Hall for Road Repairs

City Hall has been granted the right to take out a loan of 18 mln GEL by the Tbilisi Assembly in order to repair city roads damaged by the June 13 flood.

Jaba Samushia, Head of the Budget and Finance Committee at the Tbilisi City Assembly:

“A large part of the received amount will be used for the repair of streets affected by the disaster – at the moment the number stands at 15. The loan will be given by international financial institutions. The state will allocate GEL 10 million to deal with the immediate cleanup operation. A new draft of the Tbilisi budget will be submitted within the next 10 days. All available resources will be spent on overcoming the consequences of the disaster.”
