Zoo Flooding: Czechs Come to Tbilisi to Share Expertise

Experts from Czech Republic have come to Tbilisi and are ready to share their experience with Tbilisi Zoo. Prague Zoo was first flooded in 2002 at which time around 135 animals were killed. Some of them managed to escape the zoo but despite the tragedy and flooded territories, experts and zoo workers were able to recapture approximately 1000 animals. In the later 2013 flooding the zoo administration was already better prepared with an evacuation plan in place.
