Georgia Looks to Export Sheep to Bahrain

TBILISI – Georgia’s Deputy Head of the National Food Agency Mikheil Sokhadze on Friday met with representatives of Bahrain’s Ministry of Agriculture and various businessmen to discuss sheep exports, the National Food Agency reported.

Sokhadze said some technical issues needed to be addressed and a veterinary agreement agreed upon before any Georgian livestock can be sent to the Persian Gulf region.

“A new export market will be a significant step forward and positively affect the country’s economy and also develop Georgia’s sheep farming industry,” the National Food Agency said in an official statement.
