Georgia’s Khareba Winery Wins Major Awards at Bordeaux Competition

BORDEAUX, France – One of Georgia’s largest wineries, Khareba, received high praise at a wine competition in France at the weekend when two of its wines were given awards during the annual Citadelles du Vin contest in the country’s viticulture heartland of Bordeaux.

Held every May, the competition brings together over 50 top sommeliers from around the world to taste over 1,200 of the best wines from more than 30 different countries.

Judges at the competition awarded both Khareba’s Mtsvane 2015 dry white wine and its red semi-sweet Kindzmarauli 2014 with gold medals.

In 2015, the competition named Khareba the best winery in Central and Eastern Europe.
