New Souvenir Tents to Appear on Streets of Georgia’s Batumi

BATUMI, Georgia – The city administration of Georgia’s Black Sea resort city Batumi is ready to replace dozens of old souvenir tents with 30 newly designed models beginning June 1.

The new USD 44,700 (96,000 GEL) tents – located on Batumi’s central boulevard – are designed to look like an opened book.

The city administration said the prime motivation for the change was the clashing aesthetic styles of the old Soviet-era tents and the newly renovated design of central Batumi.

Any individual or a legal entity can rent the new tents through an online auction where the starting price will be USD 420-465 (900-1000 GEL), depending on the location.
