Chain of Austrian-style Bakeries to Open in Tbilisi
TBILISI – A new chain Austrian-style of bakeries under the Braumeister brand will open across Tbilisi in the coming months, the company’s investors announced recently.
The bakery produces 30 different types of European-style confectionery and baked products using Austrian technology. The company was founded as part of the state-run program ‘Produce in Georgia’ program, with a total investment of USD 250,000 (513,600 GEL), said Georgia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Ministry.
“This is a great example of when qualified businesspeople, with state support, create a quality marketable product that creates jobs for residents,” said Economy Minister Dmitry Kumsishvili.
According to the company’s data, the company currently employs 35 people. Major expansion plans are already in the works as the company is set to open a namesake cafe in Tbilisi’s upscale Vake District later in June.
Further expansion will be carried out in 2016 as up to eight more cafes and bakery branches are set to open throughout the city, bringing the company’s total number of employees to 80.
“We will first open a single flagship cafe so our customers can get acquainted with the products that we offer. We’ll then open additional outlets in all of Tbilisi’s districts,” Braumeister director David Shanidze said.
Braumeister began producing baked products from its facilities in Tbilisi’s Didi Digomi in 2014.
