Henkel Factory Opens in Georgia
TBILISI- Famous German Brand Henkel opened its first factory in Georgia and the Caucasus, once again confirming the fact that Georgia has a very attractive business environment, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated at the opening ceremony.
“This will be yet another ‘Made in Georgia’ product, highlighting the active economical partnership between Germany and Georgia,” the PM said.
The idea of Henkel entering the regional market here was first discussed at the Davos World Economical Forum two years ago.
The opening of the Henkel factory is seen as a starting point to realize ambitious plans of infrastructural modernization and construction sector development in Georgia.
“The factory will bring direct and indirect employment opportunities to individuals, and at the same time, equipped with top technological advances, it has a high importance in terms of technological education,” the PM noted.
Manufacturing a variety of cement-based products, the new Georgia-based Henkel factory aims to reach and satisfy the needs of its customers in Georgia and in the wider South Caucasus.
Director of Construction Materials of Henkel, Zdenek Brich, thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia and the Georgian Government for their support during the project.
“I believe that you and we will be proud of the fact that modern technologies will be used to manufacture products in Georgia. I would like to congratulate us and congratulate you - the citizens of Georgia, our customers," Brich said, emphasizing his belief in the success of Henkel’s future operations in Georgia.
