Irakli Garibashvili Rejects Idea of Same-Sex Marriage

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, in an interview with Asaval-Dasavali, explained marriage unity and called the family 'a church.' 
“The family is otherwise called the 'church' and I believe that families are the basis for all kinds of good. So I, as Prime Minister and as a citizen, will do my best to make a record in the Constitution that marriage is the union between a man and a woman! Today, in the world, every state decides such issues in their own way and we believe that in Georgia this issue must be resolved in this way!” he said.
