China’s Southern Air Launches Flights to Tbilisi

TBILISI – China’s Southern Airlines began servicing the Georgian capital Tbilisi on September 23 with twice-weekly direct flights from Beijing.

The world’s third-largest airline in terms of passenger traffic, China Southern Air will carry out flights between the two capitals with Boeing-737-800 aircraft every Tuesday and Friday, according to the airlines’ official announcement.

China Southern Air was joined by Hungary’s budget airline WizzAir on September 23 as the newest companies to service Georgia’s two main airports, Tbilisi and Kutaisi.  

WizzAir launched regular flights between Kutaisi and Berlin, Munich, Milan, Dortmund, Thessaloniki, Larnaca and Sofia.
