Pope Francis Touring Tbilisi

The Pope’s two day visit to the capital of Georgia started with a meeting with Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili  and Ilia II, the Patriarch of Georgia.

Pope Francis was then taken to the Chaldean Catholic Church of Simon 'Bar Sabbae', to meet the Assyrian Chaldean community where he held a liturgy.

Today, Pope Francis held a holy mass in the Tbilisi Mikheil Meskhi stadium.

A visit to the Svetistskhoveli Cathedral is also in the program of the visit, after which the Pope will continue his journey to Baku, Azerbaijan on 2^nd of October.
