Georgian Pianist Named Musician of the Year by Channel TF1

Award-winning Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili received another international prize last week hen TF1, France's most popular television channel, named her Musician of the Year.

The private national French TV channel TF1 is the most popular domestic network. It's also considered to be the most viewed television channel in Europe.

On December 9, the French TV channel held its annual awards ceremony un order to honor artists, sportspeople and media personalities.

Buniatishvili attended the ceremony to collect her prize.

The Paris-based Georgian pianist during her musical career has played concerts alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, and others.

Earlier this year, Buniatishvili received the ECHO Klassik 2016 Award from Germany's Music Industry Association and was featured on the album A Head Full of Dreams by British pop music band Coldplay.

Buniatishvili released her own 2016 album Kaleidoscope in February 2016.
