ADB to Finance Water & Sanitation System Improvements in Georgia

Chiatura, Marneuli, and Bolnisi will have their sanitation and water supply systems renewed in 2017 as a part of the USD 99 million project financed by the Asia Development Bank (ADB) under the recent loan agreement between the ADB and the Government of Georgia. The project will be implemented with the participation of the United Water Supply Company and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, under the framework of the Urban Services Improvement Investment Program signed by ADB and Georgia in 2011. That program aims to improve infrastructure through the reconstruction of water supply and sanitation systems throughout the country.

ADB has already mobilized more than USD 2.1 billion in public and private sector financing in Georgia since 2007.
