Bakradze in US and Canada to Discuss Regional Security and EU Integration

David Bakradze, State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, is visiting the United States and Canada this week.

In Washington D.C. the Minister will visit members of the US Senate and US Congress. He is also due to have meetings at the Department of State.

Perspectives and priorities of the bilateral relations between Georgia and the United States will be issues for discussion between Minister Bakradze and his American colleagues, with both sides expected to emphasize regional security issues and a variety of matters pertaining to the process of Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration.

According to the State Minister, in the frames of this visit he will also meet with representatives of USAID.

With US Government agency USAID, Minister Bakradze will discuss assistance issues in the implementation process of Georgia's Association Agreement (AA) with the EU, as well as USAID’s assistance instruments in this direction. He will speak with different international non-governmental organizations and will also participate in a roundtable at the Atlantic Council.

After his visit to the United States, Minister Bakradze will be flying to Canada where he is expected to meet with Robert Nicholson, the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
