Defense Ministry Organizes Concert for Children of Deceased Georgian Soldiers
TBILISI – Georgia’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) has organized a New Year concert for the children of Georgian soldiers, who died in peacekeeping or various military missions.
Georgia’s Defense Minister, Levan Izoria and soldiers attended the concert and wished happy New Year to the families of deceased Georgian soldiers.
Around 150 children were entertained by the Georgian soldiers, who were friends of the deceased servicemen. The name of the event was symbolic too – From Your Father’s Friend.
Levan Izoria praised Georgian soldiers, who died for their motherland and for contributing to the global security and peace.
“Your fathers were the best; we should always remember them as heroes. We will always be by your side. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” the defense minister addressed the children gathered at the concert.
Famous Georgian singers, artists, animators and actors of pantomime theatre took part in the festive event. The children were given presents, books, sweets and fir seedlings as a symbol of life.
In the end of the concert, the children were gifted by special photo albums, with the photos taken at the event.
