Georgia and Belarus to Expand Trade & Economic Relations
The possibility of increasing export between Belarusia and Georgia was discussed in a meeting chaired by the Georgian Deputy Minister of the Economy and Sustainable Development, Benadi Arveladze, and Deputy Minister of Industry of Belarus, Alexander Ogorodnikov, last week. The two ministers also discussed the countries opening joint ventures. The Belorussian minister was particularly interested in opening Georgian winter resorts.
The same day delegates from the Belorussian government met with Giorgi Gakharia, the Georgian Minister of the Economy and Sustainable Development, to discuss collaboration on tourism and information technologies.
This format for dialogue between Georgia and Belarus was decided on during a 2016 visit by Prime Minister Kvirikashvili to Belarus. They created an inter-agency group in order to deepen economic relations between the two countries.
