Anaklia Development Consortium Presents General Plan

The Anaklia Development Consortium has finished working on the general plan of the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. At present the plan is being considered by the Anaklia governmental commission. The general plan reviews all nine stages of the port construction, and includes the following projects:

  • Economic Impact Assessment
  • Turnover calculation

  • Investment volume

Anaklia Port general plan focuses on innovative engineering technologies, expenses-saving and the efficiency of the port. It is an example for the regional and international port sectors.

Anaklia Development Consortium worked on the general plan with the Dutch company Maritime & Transport Business Solutions (MTBS). The document must be approved by the Anaklia governmental commission. The consortium also presented a $20 million bank guarantee to the government, under which the consortium carried out the pre-engineering and hydro-engineering works and completed "Environmental and Social Environmental Impact "document preparation and research into the Anaklia economic and social environment.

With its international contractors and partners (Van Oord, Moffatt & Nichol, Royal Haskoning HDV, Ecoline International), Anaklia Development Consortium has carried out the following projects:

  • Full study of the waters of the sea bed and of port area navigation
  • Geotechnical works for researching underwater soil
  • Studies of power, speed and the altitude of waves and wind
