Two Russian Tourists Rescued in Kazbegi

Yesterday, July 12, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Emergency Management Agency in Kazbegi undertook a successful rescue operation in Aragvi Gorge, assisting two Russian tourists back to the town.

Emergency center 112 received a report that two citizens of the Russian Federation, a middle aged woman and man, had gone to visit a waterfall in Aragvi Gorge. The man accidentally fell into the water and injured his foot. The tourists were unable to return to Kazbegi alone and called 112 for help.

The team of rescuers of MIA Emergency Management Agency headed out to the location as soon as the report was received, where they found the tourists and returned them safely to the town. The male tourist was then transported to a local hospital in Kazbegi.
