Prices for Gasoline in the US & Russia Almost Equal

In the first quarter of this year, the cost of one liter of gasoline in the US and Russia almost equaled, claimed Bloomberg in its latest report.

In this period, one liter of gasoline in the US cost $0.68, as it did in Russia. At the same time, the price of one US gallon (3.79 liters) in the US was $2.57, and in the Russian Federation $2.58. In the fourth quarter of last year, gasoline was cheaper in Russia at $2.36 per US gallon, in the US being $2.54.

In total, 61 countries entered the rating of countries with cheap gasoline. Russia took 11th place on the list, the United States - 10th. The lowest prices were seen in Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt and Kuwait.

Bloomberg noted that the two-year recession in Russia may end this year and, according to analysts of the agency, support for the country is exerted by rising oil prices and the election of a new president in the US which may be more benevolent towards Moscow.
