BSEC- a Serious Platform for Black Sea Region Development
The organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is a “successful international platform which makes a great contribution to the sustainable development of the region,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in Istanbul on Monday.
"BSEC planted seeds 25 years ago and now they have come to bloom. We have gained a lot of experience; our international platform is a great success and a merit to all of us,” Erdogan said at the summit.
He thanked the participating countries for their contribution to the economic development of the region and assured that Turkey "will continue to do everything in its power for peace and stability in the region."
Turkey chairs the BSEC from January to June 2017. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the organization. As a result of the summit, a draft joint declaration will be prepared in Istanbul.
The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization is an intergovernmental organization uniting 12 states of the Black Sea and the Southern Balkans. It was founded in 1992. The headquarters of the organization is located in Istanbul.
