The PM highlighted that endorsements from a world-renowned mountaineer would be extremely important for mountain resort development in Georgia.

Messner is also visiting Svaneti, Kazbegi and Tusheti during his visit.

Reinhold Messner has also crossed the Antarctic, Greenland and Gobi Desert on foot. He is the author of over 80 books. In 2010, he was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Piolet d’Or, the most prestigious award for alpinists.
