Georgian Driving License Might Be Recognized by EU
Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) says that they are working with European countries on recognition of the Georgian driving license by EU member states.
Deputy Interior Minister of Georgia, Shalva Khutsishvili, says that talks are underway with several EU countries and the process will move to a more active phase shortly.
He added that once exams for a driving license are made more challenging and the practical part of the exams is conducted in the streets, it will facilitate the process of the EU recognizing the Georgian driving license.
“We are actively involved in international cooperation and are very actively working with our colleagues on this issue,” Khutsishvili told reporters.
He also took the opportunity to highlight that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is one of the agencies that has signed most international agreements, memorandums and agreements over the past three years.
“Special attention is paid to the EU and I can tell you that the crime rate is falling in a number of countries where police attachés have been sent,” he added.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister said that MIA informs ambassadors of the priorities on which the agency works, such as readmission issues, border protection, emergency situations, and fighting organized crime.
