6.7 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Greece and Turkey
A strong earthquake in the Aegean Sea has killed at least two people on the Greek island of Kos, according to media reports.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 16.2 kilometers, hit seven miles north-east of Kos, near the Turkish coast, with a depth of 10km.
The quake, which hit early Friday morning, was followed by at least 12 aftershocks. Two people are reported dead on the Greek island, and dozens seriously injured. 70 people were hospitalized in Bodrum, Turkey. According to media reports, the earthquake was followed by a small Tsunami, flooding some of the hotels in Marmaris, Turkey.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia said stated that no Georgian citizens were injured during the earthquake.
