Disruption in Kakheti After Rain and Hail Storms

Heavy rain and hail struck the Kakheti region in eastern Georgia, last night damaging farmland and buildings in the village of Sanavardo.

Vines, roads and water facilities have all been adversely affected by the storms.

Near the village of Gavazi, fallen trees had blocked the road. Workers from the Kvareli municipality have been attempting to clear any blockages to nearby infrastructure.

According to the Deputy Governor of Kvareli, Otar Bujiashvili, roof repairs have already begun in places while the overall cost of the storms will be calculated in due course.
