Nenskra HPP Donates HYUNDAI Bus to Mestia Municipality

Based on a Community Investment Program, established within the initiative of the Nenskra HPP Project, JSC Nenskra Hydro have donated a 16-seater minibus to the municipality of Mestia, Svaneti. The minibus, a Hyundai H-350 Bus, will serve the specific needs of the local population in both the Nenskra and Nakra valleys (children’s sightseeing tours, etc.)

Several weeks ago, also within the framework of the same program, Nenskra and Nakra valley schools received sports equipment and computers, and kindergartens had kitchen equipment and toys donated.

The Community Investment Program was developed by the Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project, based on an assessment on the needs of both the Nenskra and Nakra valleys’ population. This program, which will be implemented from September, concentrates on the an improvement of infrastructure, facilitation of development of agriculture and tourism, as well as the development of skills within the younger generation.

“The Community Investment Program is an integral part of the Nenskra HPP Project. We pay careful attention to the sustainable development of the region in which the project is implemented. An increase in employment of local workforce is envisaged during the construction phase, as well as in the operational phase of HPP. The Community Investment Program is mainly focused on the development of agriculture and tourism in the Nenskra and Nakra valleys, but we will not limit ourselves to this, as our goal is to improve the overall living conditions of the population in these two valleys. Donating a minibus is an example of this policy”, - JSC Nenskra Hydro Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Byoung Seub Choi stated.  

 

JSC Nenskra Hydro is a project company that was established as a result of cooperation between Korea Water Resources Corporation K-Water and JSC Partnership Fund in 2015. The purpose of the company is the construction of Nenskra Hydropower Plant in Nenskra and Nakra rivers’ valleys in Mestia Municipality of Svaneti region. Nenskra HPP, installed capacity of which is 280 MW, will generate 1’200.00 GWh of electricity annually, which will be fully consumed by the local market. www.nenskrahydro.ge
