Doctors Recommend Avoiding Sunbathing during Afternoon
87 patients were hospitalized and 387 had to undergo ambulatory treatment due to sunburn this summer in Georgia.
The information was released by Guga Kashibadze, the Head of the Tbilisi Burn Center. According to him, among the patients the youngest patient is a 4 year old child who spent a long time at the pool, and the oldest a 69 year old woman.
Kashibadze explains that compared to the same period last year, the number of patients with burns has increased. In addition, he noted that the number of male patients is equal to women this year.
The Head of the Tbilisi Burn Center recommends the people not to go to the sea between the hours 11 am to 5pm.
Kashibadze calls on parents not to take children under one year to the sea without the recommendation of a pediatrician.
He also suggests holidaymakers use protective lotions and creams while sunbathing at the beach.
