Car Slams into Bus Stop in Marseille, At Least One Confirmed Dead

It has been reported that one person has been killed after a car struck a bus stop in Marseille, southern France, according to police reports.  

News reports suggest that the driver has been arrested. Police say it is not clear whether the van was driven deliberately into the shelter in the old port area or whether it was an accident.

Additionally, there are reports that second bus shelter in a different district of Marseille was struck earlier.

Police have advised people to avoid the old port area.
