Mustafa Emre Çabuk’s Pre-Extradition Detention Extanded

Mustafa Emre Çabuk, Demirel College manager detained since May 24, who is accused in being involved with a terrorist organization associated with US based Fethullah Gülen, will remain in a pre-extradition detention facility in a Georgian prison. The detention was increased by another three months by the court today, despite an appeal filed by Çabuk’s advocates, which has been denied by the judge. Today was the date when the initial pre-extradition period of three months ended.

On July 7, Mustafa Emre Çabuk was refused refugee status in Georgia, by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Accommodation and Refugees in Georgia. Çabuk’s advocates appealed against the decision on August 2, 2017.
