Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in River Gudjarula

Mi-8, A helicopter belonging to The Ministry of Internal Affairs, made an emergency landing yesterday on river Gudjurula, near village Daba in Borjomi. While avoiding a possible crash, since the water reservoir was already full, the helicopter made an emergency landing on the river. 

4 crew members were transported to hospital in Tbilisi. David Sergeenko, Minister of health, stated that the crew members underwent medical examinations and luckily sustained no serious injuries. 

It is reported that the helicopter had a regular check-up two days before the incident and its engine was fully functioning at that time. While extinguishing the fire in Borjomi, the same helicopter crew carried out over 600 flights, using 1300 tons of water. 

The Ministry of Internal affairs have initiated an investigation on the matter.
