Black Sea Jazz Festival 2015 Kicks Off with George Clinton & Parliament Funkdadelic

The 9th Black Sea Jazz Festival 2015 was opened yesterday by George Clinton & Parliament Funkdadelic. Clinton, together with his band, performed at the Batumi Tennis Club yesterday to an audience of thousands from Georgia and abroad. The concert lasted longer than planned, exceeding an hour and half, to the delight of both the audience and the artists themselves.

As Clinton said, it was all thanks to the audience who 'helped him a great deal.' The artists also celebrated his 74th birthday from the Batumi stage.

"I am delighted with the audience; it is also good that my birthday coincided with our show tonight. I had an amazing time here and I will definitely be back," Clinton announced.

It is noteworthy that this year's Festival has increased in popularity compared to previous years.

“An unprecedented number of people are attending the Festival this year in Batumi. It's great. We hope to maintain this pace," said George Kereselidze, Director of organizer, Eastern Promotion.

Today, the festival will be continued by LIV WARFIELD & NPG HORNZ. Lisa Stansfield will perform tomorrow and the Festival will close on July 26 by Snoop Dogg.
