Georgian Wine to Be Sold at CHEERS WINES Market in Beijing
Georgian wines will be sold in the markets of CHEERS WINES in Beijing, the capital of China with 22 million population.
The information was spread by the Georgian National Wine Agency (NWA), which added that for Georgian wine popularization, CHEERS WINES will organize free tastings and presentations in 45 shops of the chain during one month.
The free tasting of Georgian wine in Beijing started on September 20.
Wine experts of CHEERS WINES visited Georgia in September 2016. The visit was organized by NWA.
CHEERS WINES is a Chinese wine import company headquartered in Beijing with partner stores throughout China. The chain store was created in 2008 by Swiss father and daughter - Tien and Claudia, whose family has been in wine business since 1898.
The NWA underlined that China is the strategic export market for Georgian wines.
“According to 8 month data of the current year, over 5m bottles of wine have been exported to China, which is 51% higher, than the similar data of the previous year. China is the second in the top five of exporter countries,” the Wine Agency reports.
