Fire Breaks Out in Tsagveri Forest

Another fire in the Tsagveri forest broke out yesterday, with the Ministry of Internal Affair’s helicopter and around 200 fire-fighters and rescue team workers from the Emergency Management Agency still trying to localize the fire this morning, reports Georgian Television stations.

The Special Office is working in Tsagveri now, with Ministers of Infrastructure and Internal Affairs and National Forestry Agency representatives planning further steps to extinguish the fire.

It is still unknown exactly how much of the territory has been damaged by the fire that started yesterday, however it has been reported that the fire re-emerged on the same area of land burnt down in 2008.
