TripAdvisor Awards Georgian Restaurant Complex with Certificate of Excellence

The Funicular Restaurant Complex in Tbilisi has been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award for 2015.

TripAdvisor gives the award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants which consistently earn good reviews from travellers. The award, honouring hospitality excellence, represents the top businesses listed on the traveller review website.

Winners have included one-room B&Bs to 600-room hotels, hidden attractions to world-famous museums and local cafésto Michelin-starred restaurants.

President of TripAdvisor for Business, Marc Charron noted on the importance of the certificate “By putting a spotlight on businesses that are focused on delivering great service to customers, TripAdvisor not only helps drive an improvement to hospitality standards around the world, it also gives businesses both large and small the ability to shine and stand out from the competition.”

Funicular, located high above the Georgian capital city, is one of the most visited places in Tbilisi, its history dating all the way to 1905.

The complex includes five separate dining facilities: Chela (traditional Georgian). Puri Guliani (bakery), the Bar-Lounge and the signature Funicular Restaurant and Events room. The events hall is one of the most famous venues for high-level conferences, wedding receptions or parties with high-level service and facilities to match.

With its brand new cable train one can take a trip to the Complex and enjoy dinner with stunning panoramic views over Tbilisi.

The travellers who shared their experiences with TripAdvisor focused on the views from the restaurant over the capital noting “this will take you for a ride to get your best view of the city” and that it’s a “must do in Tbilisi.”
