Regional Conference on Independent Legal Aid
Members of the Legal Aid Reformers’ Network (LARN) and leading international experts from Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Sierra Leone, Great Britain and Georgia will discuss independent legal aid at a Regional Conference in Tbilisi on September 28-29 at the Tbilisi Marriot Hotel.
The conference is organized by the Legal Aid Service of Georgia (LAS) and supported by the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF), European Union (EU), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), USAID project “Promoting Rule of Law in Georgia” (ProLOG) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Chairman of Parliament, Irakli Kobakhidze, Chief Justice, Nino Gvenetadze, Director of Legal Aid Service, Meliton Benidze, Chairperson of Legal Aid Board, Eka Popkhadze, UNDP Resident Representative in Georgia Niels Scott, Manager of Justice for All Programme of the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia , Peter Danis, Office of Democracy, Acting Director, Democracy, Governance and Social Development Office, USAID/Georgia, Laura B. Berger, and Executive Director of Open Society Georgia Foundation, Ketevan Khutsishvili, will address participants at the opening session.
