Mass Shooting in Vegas Kills 58 Injures 500

Update 20:00 -  The death toll has increasd up to 58 while the number of injured exceeded 500, according to CNN. The gunman, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, is dead. He was not known to authorities.

13:00 - Sunday night shooting outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip during a music festival left at least 20 killed and more than 100 injured.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said one suspect has been killed; they don't believe there are any other shooters.

Police said they are also seeking a woman they named as Marilou Danley, described as a companion of the suspect.

CNN reports that the mayor of Las Vegas, Carolyn G. Goodman, has tweeted her gratitude to the first responders who were called to the scene at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Goodman also urged the public to pray for the city in the wake of the deadly attack.
