Georgian PM, President Vote in Local Elections
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili arrived at the polling station with his family and cast his vote in the local elections today.
The PM stated that he voted for Tbilisi, where everyone is happy.
“I voted for such Tbilisi where urban transport is regulated, where there are many green zones arranged for our citizens, where the education system is regulated and where there is a very high economic dynamics, where entrepreneurs are happy to start a business and which is full of life,” he stated.
Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili has also cast his vote, saying he voted for three different subjects in three ballot papers, given to him.
“I chose three different subjects in three ballot papers. This was my choice,” the President stated after casting his vote.
During the local elections, the voters are given three types of ballot papers at the polling stations:
- A blue color bulletin - to choose a party or election bloc via proportional elections
- Pink ballot paper - to select a majoritarian member of City Council
- And a light green color bulletin - to choose a self-governing city or mayor of self-governing community.
