Annual TVET Conference 'Skills For Future' Opens in Tbilisi
The second Annual International Technical, Vocational Education and Training Conference: Skills For Future opens at Biltmore Hotel Tbilisi today, organized within the Millenium Challenge Fund’s Industry- Led Skills and Workforce Development project.
Jason Gregory, Director of Business Development from Pearson Education, is to present the international research outcomes, introducing the most in demand professions by 2030, and will talk about skills for the future. The research was conducted together with the NESTA Global Innovation Fund and University of Oxford’s Martin School.
The conference is said to be attended by over 200 participants from Georgia and abroad, discussing the role of professional education in finding employment, professional education policy, increasing the private sector involvement in the professional education and for business development; while the panel discussions will also explore the issues of professional education branding possibilities.
An exhibition introducing 45 newly launched professional education programs, with 10 professional education colleges showcasing all the necessary information to the visitors, opened at 4:pm today.
In the evening, at 7pm a national award ceremony for professional education will be held, with nominees to be awarded in four different categories: Professional Education Student of the year, Professional Education Teacher of the year, Professional Education Institution of the year and Professional Education’s Business Partner Organization of the year. The event to be attended by the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia.
Industry Led Skills and Workforce Development is a $16 million USD project financed by Millenium Challenge Corporation, within a $140 million USD contract between the Millenium Challenge Corporation and the Government of Georgia.
