Prominent American Rapper Builds a School in Ghana
The leading American record producer, rapper, and DJ Jonathan Smith, better known as Lil Jon, quietly funded a primary school in Ghana.
He says he is unbelievably happy to give local people such a present.
The King of Crunk really wants to make this world better. The famous American rapper is said to have funded the building of a primary school in Ghana. Such a significant initiative will undoubtedly enlarge all the educational endeavors in the Eastern region. On October 14, Lil Jon posted various images about this school in his Instagram.
In the photos, there are three wholly furnished restrooms, classrooms, and an office. According to StarrFM Online, the local Ghana radio channel, the school substituted a damaged building in the rural neighborhood of the Asuogyaman District. All students had to attend school in sheds and could not keep on studying during rainy days before the school was reconstructed.
In his interview with local journalists, Lil Jon told that it was the first project of that kind they had accomplished together. “I feel like I’m lost for words of how astonishing it feels to give the people something like this primary school,” confessed the singer. He also added that the school was constructed in respect of his late mother, Carrie Smith-Williams.
Presently, the school admits seventy-five of approximately two hundred children who live in the neighborhood. Lil Jon has already been engaged in various philanthropic activities. In particular, in 2011, the singer gave over eighty thousand dollars to reconstruct school in Atlanta, which is his hometown.
