Georgia-Romanian Commission Discusses Economic Cooperation
Bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, transport, energy and agriculture were the key issues discussed by the Economic Cooperation Commission of Georgia and Romania on November 4.
The session was held in Tbilisi, and it was the first session of the joint commission since 2002.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Romanian Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Minister Ilan Laufer, and the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze.
The parties paid special attention to sharing experience in tourism. According to the Romanian Business Environment, Commerce and Industry Minister, it would be beneficial to launch direct flights between the two countries.
At the meeting, both countries underlined the progress made by Georgia within the Association Agreement. The Romanian side expressed full readiness to support Georgia in this process.
At the end of the meeting, a protocol agreement was signed regarding the first meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission of Georgia and Romania.
