Special-Op Update: One Suspect Arrested, Georgian State Security Service Announces

In a recent announcement, Georgian State Security Service has said that one suspect has been arrested during the special operation on Monk Gabriel street in the Isani district of Tbilisi, with the operation still ongoing to arrest the other potential suspects. Georgian State Security Service says the suspects are not citizens of Georgia, and are allegedly members of a terrorist organization. The Counter-Terrorism unit of the Georgian State Security Service were negotiating with the suspects to surrender, but the suspects refused, opening gun fire and using hand grenades, while one member of the State Security Service’s special unit was wounded, and has been transported to hospital in critical condition. 

Georgian State Security Service informs that the suspects are currently being identified, with an ongoing investigation in Georgia and outside of the country. Also, according to the Georgian State Security Service, the inhabitants of the apartment building where the special operation is conducted were evacuated. However, any damage caused will be fully reimbursed, the announcement says
