3 Members of Alleged Terrorist Group Killed, 1 Arrested

Georgian State Security Service has announced at 19:00 today that during the special operation in the Isani district of Tbilisi, one member of the terrorist group has been arrested and three were killed.

One officer of the State Security Service’s special unit died from severe injuries and two other officers are reported wounded.  In addition, two members of the Special Task Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia were also wounded.

Georgian State Security Service stated again that the members of the alleged terrorist group were not citizens of Georgia, and that they were surveilled over the course of several weeks. It has also been said, that a full identification of the terrorist group members and their possible links with international crime corresponding activities are being conducted within the international anti-terrorism cooperation framweork.

More details and further information are said to be released in the coming days.
