Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, along with Head of the Georgian State Security Service (SSS) Vakhtang Gomelauri, Interior Minister Giorgi Gakharia and the Deputy Health Minister, Zaza Sopromadze, visited officers, who were wounded during 22-hour anti-terror operation in Tbilisi, at the referral hospital in Isani district on Wednesday evening.

While commenting on the issue, the PM called on everyone to refrain from making preliminary statements and from speculations.

“Of course questions can be asked and there are institutional formats in which these questions can be answered, but we can’t speak about such level of special operations too transparently,” he noted.

Kvirikashvili added that it is safe and secure to move in the city.

“Our main priority was the safety of our citizens” Prime Minister noted, thanking the police officers and the state security service’s counter-terrorism unit for their work.

Kvirikashvili also wished fastest recovery to the wounded officers.

As Prime Minister said, the alleged terrorists were surveilled, and the fact that they were discovered at Isani district, was the result of the conducted investigative work.

The anti-terror operation in Isani started on late Tuesday. As reported by the SSS, one alleged terrorist was arrested and three were killed. Unfortunately one special forces officer was also killed by the armed group.
