Fire at Hydro Plant in Western Georgia

Yesterday evening, a fire broke out at a hydro-electric power plant in the Imereti region of Georgia. Fortunately, nobody was injured and the blaze didn’t spread to the nearby village. 

The fire service managed to contain the inferno and succeeded in extinguishing it quickly. A total of forty fire-fighters and eight vehicles from Tskaltubo, Kutaisi and Zestaponi municipalities fought the fire. 

According to sources, the fire was caused by a nearby explosion. An investigation is underway.
