PM Remarks on Rehabilitation of Orbeliani Square

Orbeliani Square is about to be rehabilitated. The relevant project's presentation by the Tbilisi City Hall was attended today by Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.  The Prime Minister congratulated everyone on the beginning of this crucially important project and emphasized the uniqueness of Orbeliani Square.

"This place instils the special feeling of harmony which sets Tbilisi apart from every other city; a place where the past and present come together. New Tbilisi is what unites the old and the new, an important project initiated by Davit Narmania.  Aghmashenebeli Avenue has been rehabilitated, turning it into a place liked by all. Today, Kakha Kaladze is launching a brand-new stage in Tbilisi's development, and I wish him success. This place is rich in monuments of cultural heritage and greeneries. It will turn into one of the most beautiful sections of Tbilisi, dearly appreciated by our citizens and also attracting visitors. Given new developmental requirements and growing pace, we are obligated to ensure that every ornament in Tbilisi, every building- each worth a whole city- is preserved, restored, cherished, and rejuvenated. This project will put in to place a new investment platform in Tbilisi, and the resources invested by the state will be complementary in breathing new life into the area. New life here means that the unique gist of this place lies within its residents and craftsmen, who used to work at Pirizme but are now assigned to different buildings. There must be a place for everyone in renovated Tbilisi, our most beautiful and cherished capital. I once again congratulate you on the beginning of this important project. New Year is around the corner, so we need festive spirit and new joy, and today is one such day of great joy to be shared by all of Tbilisi's residents," the Prime Minister stated.

Orbeliani Square renovation works consist of several stages scheduled for finalization in 2018.
