One Killed and Another Injured at Tbilisi Amusement Park

One person has died and another was injured yesterday in Tbilisi’s landscaped amusement park, located at the top of the funicular. The tragedies happened during the reconstruction of the Devil's Wheel ride. 

The injured party has been hospitalized. 

A private company was overseeing the reconstruction of the ride. The General Director of the Mtatsminda Park told reporters that she could not make any comments on the cause of the accident, because she was unsure of what exactly happened. However, she did say that an investigation has been launched. 

"An inquiry is currently underway, which will determine the cause of the accident," she said. 

The Interior Ministry told reporters that the investigation was launched under Article 240 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to violation of security rules.
