State Security Service Detains Three People in Pankisi Gorge

State Security Service of Georgia has detained three people during a special operation conducted in Omalo and Duisi villages of the Pankisi gorge, the special operation, as Georgian media reports, started early this morning. Special security service units have already left the area. 

Bado Chopikashvili, from Omalo village, has now been detained. Large amounts of weapons were reportedly found in his house. Chopikashvili is allegedly accused in helping Ahmet Chataev’s group. The Machalikashvili brothers are also being detained, with thier house being searched. These detentions are reportedly connected to the special operation held in Tbilisi on Gabriel Salosi street this November.
